BLT Sandwich (HC)

BLT Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bacon

  • 2 slices of wholemeal bread

  • 1 heaped tsp mayonnaise or 1 tbsp coleslaw

  • 1 tomato, sliced

  • Pinch of black pepper, to taste

  • A handful of lettuce (any green leaves)

Instructions

  1. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and cook the bacon to your liking, turning as needed. Once cooked, transfer to a plate lined with kitchen paper to drain any excess fat. (can also cook under the grill)

  2. Lightly toast the slices of wholemeal bread to your preference.

  3. Spread the mayonnaise (or add coleslaw) evenly over each slice of toast.

  4. Layer one slice of bread with the cooked bacon, followed by the tomato slices. Season the tomato with a little black pepper.

  5. Add a handful of leaves on top.

  6. Place the second slice of bread on top, mayonnaise side down, and press gently.

  7. Slice in half and serve immediately.
