Hot Oats and Cranberry Compote

Ingredients

  • 40g cranberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 40g porridge oats
  • 135ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 1 tsp flaxseed

Instructions:

  1. In a pot add the cranberries along with the honey and allow to simmer on a medium heat for around around 10 minutes, can add a dash of water if necessary.

  2. In a separate pot, add the oats and milk and allow it to come to the boil. Simmer on a medium heat until cooked approx. 5-10 minutes. Oats should be of thickish consistency when ready and the cranberries should have a jam like consistency when ready.

  3. Add oats to a bowl then top with the cranberry compote and sprinkle over the flaxseed.
